How this calculator works
Planned capacity = current GB × (1 + growth fraction). Monthly cost = planned capacity × storage price + platform charges + administration hours × hourly cost. Period budget = monthly cost × budget months + one-time setup. Planned end capacity is charged throughout this conservative simple budget.Worked example
One thousand GB with 20% growth gives 1,200 GB. At 0.03 per GB, storage is 36 monthly. Add 100 platform charges and three hours at 50 for 286 monthly. Twelve months plus 500 setup gives 3,932.Assumptions
Defaults are illustrative. Replace them with your own measured quantities and documented assumptions. Use matching periods and a consistent currency wherever monetary amounts are entered.Interpreting your results
This calculator does not certify HIPAA compliance or assess a provider. Required agreements, access controls, encryption, backups, data residency and retention need independent verification. Data transfer, retrieval and restore charges are excluded unless added to platform charges.Calculation formulas
- capacity
gb*(1+growth/100)- monthly
capacity*price+platform+hours*rate- Total budget, including admin time

Frequently asked questions
What should I check before using the result?
A headline storage rate may exclude retrieval, transfers, backup copies and minimum commitments. Count billable copies and place additional ongoing charges in the platform amount. Keep all capacity in the same unit used by the quote.
Does this tool connect to my records?
