Budget review time for incorrect and uncertain practice answers using measured explanation-review times.
Count uncertain correct answers separately
A guessed correct answer can still deserve review. Keep it outside the incorrect count so the same question is priced once. Use an uncertainty definition you can apply consistently across practice blocks.
How the calculation works
Incorrect answers are capped at total questions. Uncertain correct answers are capped at remaining correct answers. Review hours = (incorrect count × incorrect-review minutes + uncertain-correct count × uncertain-review minutes) ÷ 60. Review days = ceiling(hours ÷ positive daily review hours).
A worked example
Forty incorrect answers at eight minutes need 320 minutes. Thirty uncertain correct answers at four minutes need 120 minutes. Total review is 440 minutes, or 7.33 hours. At two review hours per day, reserve four whole days.
Reserve time for deeper work
Explanation review may reveal a topic needing a longer lesson or further practice. That follow-up is outside the minutes-per-answer model. Add it to your study schedule after reviewing the errors rather than hiding it in an optimistic average.
What the result leaves out
This does not diagnose knowledge, predict USMLE performance or calculate an official score. It budgets practice-review work only. Review time varies by topic and should be measured rather than treated as a benchmark.

The defaults are constructed examples, not market benchmarks. Keep a copy of the records and assumptions behind your result so you can repeat the comparison after the next reporting period.
