How this calculator works
Per-vehicle capacity = floor(max(duty minutes − fixed non-stop minutes, 0) ÷ (driving + service minutes per stop)). Fleet capacity = available vehicles × per-vehicle capacity. Completed stops = min(capacity, demand). Money left after variable costs = completed stops × money left after variable costs per stop.Worked example
Six vehicles with 480 duty minutes less 90 fixed minutes have 390 stop-work minutes each. At 20 minutes per stop, each can complete 19 whole stops: 114 fleet stops. Demand of 120 leaves six unserved; 114 stops at 15 give 1,710 money left after variable costs.Assumptions
Defaults are illustrative. Replace them with your own measured quantities and documented assumptions. Use matching periods and a consistent currency wherever monetary amounts are entered.Interpreting your results
No route, driver schedule, vehicle capacity or safety requirement is optimized. Actual delivery windows, distance and package sizes can change feasibility. The model assumes similar vehicles and routes; calculate different groups separately.Calculation formulas
- capacity
vehicles*FLOOR(MAX(hours*60-fixed,0)/(drive+service))- completed
MIN(capacity,demand)- Completed delivery stops per day
capacity- Delivery stops beyond available capacity
MAX(demand-capacity,0)- Earnings after variable costs at available demand
completed*contribution
Frequently asked questions
What should I check before using the result?
Include parking, handover, scanning and unsuccessful delivery attempts in the service assumption. Driving should include movement between stops on representative routes, not an empty-road estimate.
Does this tool connect to my records?
No. This is a local calculation from the figures you enter. It does not scan accounts, import private records or verify legal, regulatory or exam requirements.
